Apple released a new version of their popular 15-inch Mac Book Pro on Tuesday. It features an upgraded graphics card – AMD Radeon R9 M370X – which should greatly improve performance compared to the previous card for the most demanding photography, video editing or motion graphics work. The new flash storage is also twice as fast and will make working with large files a breeze. Its battery life reportedly lasts about an hour longer than the older model, so you can work or play up to 9 hours long. Lastly it features the Force Touch trackpad, which offers a more nuanced way to interact what’s on your screen.
The new 15-inch Mac Book Pro comes in two models. The $1999 version has a slightly slower processor and only has 256GB of storage while the $2499 version comes with 512GB storage and a faster processor. The cheaper model also does not include new AMD graphics card, so you’ll have to shell out another $500 to get all those extra features if you only want the very best.
In addition, Apple also drop the prices on the 5K iMacs from $2500 to $2300, but has a slightly slower processor and features the regular spinning drives instead of Apple’s Fusion Drive.
