San Beda, Ateneo, La Salle, and Letran – Philippine NCAA and UAAP Friendship Invitational 2016 0 1164

Why are these four schools playing this Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Southern California?  What do they have in common?  Well if you ask each of them, they all would probably tell you, “NOTHING!”

Do they not really have anything in common?  All of them used to be an “All-Boys” school.  All of them also used to belong in the NCAA in the Philippines.   Basketball rivalry between San Beda Red Lions and Ateneo Blue Eagles in the NCAA faded away when both the De La Salle Green Archers and Ateneo moved to the UAAP.  La Salle and Ateneo formed their decades old basketball rivalry in the UAAP with both earning 8 seniors basketball championships since they move to their new league, and San Beda found their new and equal rival in Letran Knights with San Beda leading the NCAA league with 19 seniors basketball championships and NCAA’s current champion Letran very close behind with 17.

Find out their differences and see who’s the best when these 4 schools’ alumni come together again in one basketball gym in “friendly” match-ups.  Two games in two basketball courts playing simultaneously.  San Beda and Letran playing in one court and Ateneo and La Salle playing in the other.  The winners will play for the championship trophy and the losers will play for 3rd place.

Games will be this Sunday, August 21, 2016 and starts at 1pm.  It will be held at the Cameron Gym in West Covina.  Address:  1305 E. Cameron Ave., West Covina, CA 91790.  Tickets are only $10 each and free for 12 years old and under.  There will be a food truck and drinks will also be available.

If you can’t make it in person, it will be livestreamed through MyBalitz’s Facebook account at:  www.Facebook.com/MyBalitz
